History
Bellozanne was founded in the 1190s by Hugues, lord of Gournay, an act that was soon confirmed by Richard I of England. It became a commendatory abbey in the early 16th century.
By the 17th century, the abbey was in a precarious economic state, and it was suppressed at the Revolution. Little of the former monastic complex survives today, and the site is now in private hands.
