History

The priory of Val-Guyon was founded in 1234 on land given to the Premonstratensian abbey of Bellozanne by Guy Mauvoisin, lord of Rosny. By the early 16th century it appears to have been rented out as a farm, with the title of prior only a titular one. The priory and chapel were demolished in the 1790s.
