History
The church at Vaux-les-Vernoy was given to the Premonstratensians around 1258 by one Pierre de Montbéliard.
Its status as a priory is uncertain. Jean Blanchon, abbot of Belchamp in the 15th century, apparently made it one, but in 1461 the abbot of Prémontré asserted that Belchamp was only entitled to place one of his brothers there with the title of rector. Following the Reformation, some of the brothers of Belchamp sought refuge at Vaux-les-Vernoy.
The buildings were destroyed in the late 16th century and no ruins now remain.
