The church of Montault was in the possession of the Premonstratensian abbey of Jovilliers from 1213 thanks to a gift of Geoffroi de Joinville. The church was destroyed in warfare in 1592 and was never rebuilt.
Its exact location is unknown, but according to a 1307 charter the church was located in the parish of the church de Loicheriis, likely Leschères-sur-le-Blaiseron.
