History
A priory dependent on the Premonstratensian abbey of Mureau, this was never a large community. Its exact foundation date is unknown, but the earliest documentary reference to it is from 1217. In 1401 it was home to only one brother.
In the 17th century, Bonneval was transferred to the recently established Premonstratensian hospice of Saint-Joseph at Nancy. It remained a possession of the order until the Revolution. Today the property is in private hands.
