History
The Premonstratensian community at Słupsk was founded in 1281 around a pre-existing church dedicated to St. Nicholas. The property was a gift of Mestwin II (or Mszczuj), Prince of Pomerania. Construction of the monastery's church began in 1311. In the 16th century, the monastery became a Lutheran community.
The former monastic church today houses the town library.
