History

A dependent house of Mariënweerd. It was originally a house of the Penitential Order of Mary Magdalene (or the Reuerinnen). In 1344, it joined the Premonstratensian Order.

The communitiy was initially suppressed in 1580, briefly revived, and then definitively suppressed in 1593.

Much of the monastic complex was demolished in 1599, and nothing now remains. However, some remains of the monastery church came to light during construction work in the 1980.
