History
Until ca. 1150, the church of St Drotten was a parish church. It was then given to the Premonstratensians and became the core of a monastery.
Following the dissolution of the monastery, the church reverted to a parish church and was demolished in the early modern period. The site was excavated in the 1980s and the foundations are now accessible to visitors.
