History
Mórichida was founded as a house of Premonstratensian brothers in 1251 by Móric II of the Pók kindred. Its medieval history is obscure. By ca. 1530 it appears to have become a community of Premonstratensian sisters.
The community was dissolved in the 1570s. From the early 17th century, a group of Poor Clares occupied the monastic complex. The former priory church now serves as a parish church. It was restored in the 1930s and again in the 1990s.
