History
Eewen was originally house of sisters dependent on Tongerloo, founded in the mid-12th century. The sisters remained there until the late 13th century and appear to have run a hospital. After ca. 1300, the hospital was run by Premonstratensian brothers.
Eewen's date of dissolution is unknown. It was likely located near the town of Broechem, at a site known in the early modern period as "Bergske" or "Bergse hoeven." There were still visible ruins in the 17th century.
