History
Chaumont had its origins in an early medieval eremitical foundation. It because a community of Augustinian canons ca. 1078, and joined the Premonstratensian Order in 1147. It was endowed by the comital family of Porcien and the lords of Rozoy. Although badly damaged during the Hundred Years' War, it remained an active pilgrimage site.
Chaumont became a commendatory abbey in 1554, and adopted the reform of the Antique Rigueur in 1642. It was dissolved at the Revolution.
