History
The abbey of Chambrefontaine was founded by Alelme, cantor of Meaux, and Guy de Cuisy ca. 1190. Chambrefontaine became a commendatory abbey in 1538. It was pillaged twice in the later 16th century.
The abbey was rebuilt ca. 1650, but was once more in a precarious state at the time of its dissolution in the 1790s. Nothing remains of the monastic complex today.
