History
The priory of Brocqueboeuf was founded in the 1150s by Guillaume d'Orval, lord of Lithaire. It was a dependent house of Blanchelande.
In 1792, the priory was suppressed and the property sold off by the state. In the late 19th century, the remains of the priory were incorporated into a new private residence, the Château de Brocqueboeuf, which was built on the site.
