History

In 1316, the Premonstratensian community at Kirchgellersen relocated to nearby Heiligenthal. The priory was secularized in 1530, and in 1564 most of the monastic complex was demolished. The priory's church was demolished in 1801/02.

Only a single wall of the priory remains today, incorporated into the side of the Brömsehaus.
