History
A chapel which was in the possession of the Premonstratensian abbey of Marchtal from the late 12th century. It was given to the abbey by the Counts Palatine of Tübingen. It remained in the abbey's possession until 1803.
The chapel was substantially rebuilt in the 17th and 18th centuries, and became a parish church in the 1740s. However, the village of Ammern gradually disappeared around the same time, and the parish of Ammern was abolished in 1807.
In the 1980s, the chapel was restored and subsequently reconsecrated.
