History
The sisters of Langen moved to Blauhaus in 1499 because their original site was becoming submerged beneath the Dollart. The construction of the new monastic complex was largely complete by 1525. From the 1520s onwards, the monastery faced opposition from the comital family of East Frisia and was slowly dissolved. The last mention of members of the community was 1585.
The remains of the monastic complex at Blauhaus were demolished in the early 18th century. A farm now occupies the site.
