History
The monastery of Santa María de Mur was founded as an Augustinian community in the 1060s. In ca. 1228, the monastery joined the Premonstratensian Order. However, not all of the brothers were happy with this decision, and ca. 1240, Mur left the Premonstratensian Order.
From the 16th century, Mur was a collegiate church, and was suppressed in 1835. The church remains today, but Mur's archives were burned by Communists in 1936.
