History

A community dedicated to St Kunigunde was founded here by Hartmann von Lobdeburg in the early 13th century. Bishop Sibodo of Havelberg consecrated its church. Premonstratensian sisters settled at Bruderhartmannszell from 1290. The community was primarily patronised by the lords of Sulz near Kirchberg an der Jagst.

In 1525, the sisters fled to the city of the Rothenburg ob der Tauber because of the Peasants' War, and after the death of the last magistra in 1539, the property passed to the city of Rothenburg's hospital. The site is now a farm in private hands known as the Klosterhof.
