History
The abbey of Fontaine-André was founded in the first half of the 12th century by the brothers Mangolt and Rodolphe, lords of Neuchâtel. In the 1140s, the abbey joined the Premonstratensian order. In 1375, the monastery was burned down during the Gugler War.
The monks returned to the site in the 15th century, but the abbey was dissolved during the Reformation. The site is now in private hands.
