History
Hermières was founded by one Renaud, with the support of Maurice de Sully, bishop of Paris. The abbey particularly benefited from the patronage of Alix of Champagne, queen of France, and of the lords of Garlande. It was likely a double house in its early years.
It became a commendatory abbey in 1535. Hermières was suppressed 1790.
