History
The origins of Morra are obscure, but it likely branched off from the Premonstratensian community at Dokkum in the early 13th century. It appears to have been a prosperous house.
Morra was pillaged and burned in 1569, and finally suppressed in 1580. Some ruins were still visible in the 18th century, but nothing remains at the site today.
