History
Athmoy was founded in 1232 by Clarus Mag Máilin (MacMailin), archdeacon of Elphin. It was never a large community, and was perhaps a non-conventual cell. At the Dissolution, Athmoy was already in ruins; it and its property were granted to one Robert Harrison in 1594.
