History
Kuzemer was a small Premonstratensian women's community, founded by 1287. Around that time there were 60 members of the community. The sisters ran a school.
Monastic life at Kuzemer came to an end with the Reformation. The monastic complex was soon robbed out for building stone, although some partial ruins were visible for some time and Rijkkens in the mid-19th century was able to sketch the layout of the site. Nothing remains today.
