Her current research focuses on the involvement of women with the Premonstratensian religious order in twelfth- and thirteenth-century northern France.<\/p>\n<p>Her edition of the thirteenth-century <a href=\"https:\/\/utorontopress.com\/9781487544836\/the-cartulary-of-premontre\/\">cartulary of Pr\u00e9montr\u00e9<\/a>, co-edited with <a href=\"https:\/\/hgwacha.wordpress.com\/\">Heather Wacha<\/a>, was published in 2023 with the University of Toronto Press. Her scholarship has also appeared in journals including <em>Revue d&#8217;histoire eccl\u00e9siastique, The Once and Future Classroom: Resources for Teaching the Middle Ages, The Journal of Medieval Monastic Studies<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Syllabus<\/em>, and <em>The Public Domain Review<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>She is presently at work on a monograph exploring the history of medieval Premonstratensian women.<\/p>\n<p>In 2016, Yvonne joined the faculty of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.geneseo.edu\/history\">SUNY Geneseo<\/a> in beautiful western New York, where she is an associate professor of medieval history. She is a Faculty Affiliate in Geneseo&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geneseo.edu\/cdl\">Center for Digital Learning<\/a>, which allows her to pursue her interest in digital humanities research and pedagogy. She is the recipient of the Teaching Association for Medieval Studies Teaching Award for College Educators, 2019-2020, and of the SUNY Chancellor&#8217;s Award for Excellence in Teaching, 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Yvonne received a B.A. in History\/Archaeology from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tcd.ie\/history\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Trinity College Dublin<\/a> and an M.Litt. in Mediaeval History from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.st-andrews.ac.uk\/history\/index.html\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">University of St Andrews<\/a>, Scotland. She earned her PhD in history from the <a href=\"http:\/\/clas.uiowa.edu\/history\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">University of Iowa<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yvonne Seale is a historian of women and religion in the European Middle Ages.
