<text>Likely originally a double house, Broadholme was founded ca. 1135-ca. 1155 by Agnes de Camville, wife of Peter Gousley (or Goxhill?), the founder of the affiliated abbey of Newhouse. By the early 14th century, it appears to have been a community solely of women. Despite some royal patronage, it was not a wealthy community. In 1494, it was home to a prioress, subprioress and seven other sisters.

Broadholme was dissolved 1536/37. Some partial remains of the monastic complex are incorporated into the walls of the farmhouse now standing on the site.</text>

<text>Croxton was founded by 1162 as a priory on land given by Guillaume I, count of Boulogne. It was later elevated to the status of abbey. The heart of John I of England was buried in Croxton's abbey church. The majority of the monastic complex was destroyed by fire in 1326, but it had been largely rebuilt by 1500.

Following the Dissolution, the site was granted to Thomas, Earl of Rutland, who built a manor house there. Nothing remains of the former monastic complex today. The site was partly excavated in 1926.</text>

<text>By tradition, Dale Abbey was founded on the site of a pre-existing hermitage. William FitzRalph, seneschal of Normandy, his daughter and son-in-law Matilda and Geoffrey de Salicosa, were the key founding figures. For much of the Middle Ages, the abbey was prosperous, deriving much of its income from livestock rearing and wool production.

Dale Abbey was suppressed in 1538. Much of the monastic complex's stone was robbed out in subsequent years.</text>

<text>Dodford was founded ca. 1184 for a community of Augustinian canons.

It was a priory in the possession of the Premonstratensian abbey of Halesowen from 1464. Never a wealthy house, from about 1500, the priory estates were leased out and only a single canon remained serving the church there. It was finally formally dissolved in 1536. The site then passed into private hands.

Some remains are still visible on the site, incorporated into a later farmhouse.</text>
